Computer Club

Today computer uses to operate whole world. It is an active creature in modern science and technology. Nowadays computer becomes a basic need. Computer is like a teacher because it is the root of worldwide education.
History
To improve students' technical and worldwide education, Maliyadeva College Computer Club was started in year 1982. From the beginning, there were fewer facilities. However, it improved gradually because of the determination of the teachers and students.
In 1982, two computers with 1kb capacity were presented to our computer club by education department. Therefore, Advanced Level students were able to learn about computer science using these two computers. Mr. R. M. C. P. K. Ratnayake was the first instructor and he is the present master-in-charge. Mr. M. T. Konara and Mr. M. S. B. Ramanayake also worked as computer lectures.
Computer Club was developed at the principal Mr. A. M. B. Abeyrathne's period. A separate Lab and a lecture hall were reserved in 26th of January 1991. After that, our Computer Club was able to get more computers from many denotable companies and persons.

Photography Association

Started year- 1967

Works and Victories
If it was started in1967, it was started in new way in1984 with Mr.W.R.Perera. First photo exhibition was showed in 1987.In 1986 our photography association connected with Sri Lanka student's photo association .After 1994 Maliyadeva photo association does a yearly photo exhibition named "Prabaseya". In1999 received a complete dark room to school and head of the Ninehart Mr.Thilak Godamanna donated some instruments need for it.
In 2000 Maliyadeva photo association won Hangoda prize which is gives to most worked photography association.

Red Cross Society

Started year - 1954
Present instructors - Mr.C.M.P.Chandrasekara, Mrs. Manel Chandralatha and Mrs.P.M.A.M.Kulathunga
Red Cross society was started in 1954. At that time teacher Mr.J.P.Senadhipathi and Mr.P.B.Amarainghe continue junior Red Cross society in good way. In 1958 they helped people who were destitute by flood. In school sport meets and other special festivals they were done lot of works.
In 1970 this society started again with Mr. Shelton Ranasinghe. Then it was maintained continuously long time.
Works and Victories

1994 Samith Gunasekara participated special course in Japan.
1996 Anuradha Herath participated to it in Singapore
Unit of Maliyadeva Red Cross supported to bye an ambulance to headquarters of Kurunegala district Red Cross society.
Today also Maliyadeva Red Cross Society does many services to people.

Science Society

In this year also, Science Society of the Maliyadeva College is organizing 'Vidudev 2005' the science day and the exhibition which will be held on 26th and 27th May 2005. Anyone who interested can take part in these events. So The Science Society of Maliyadeva College invites everyone to come and see how knowledgeable talented we are.

UNESCO Society

Started Year - 01st of November 1993

Mission - To organizes many social, cultural and scientific works.

Maliyadeva UNESCO society connected to A.S.P. Network of world in 1996.
Won first place of All Island inter school competition of knowledge in1998.
Member D.Rathnayaka was participated to special program of parliament event in 1999
Teacher of this society Mr.W.F.Fernando selected participate a special program of inheritance of world for south Asian teachers.
