MALIYADEVA BOYS' COLLEGE
History
In 1888 Sir Henry steel olcot & Anagarika Darmapala established MALIYADEVA BOYS’ COLLEGE in the Kurunegala. In the first days, the classes were in several places. Sir D.B. Welagedara has granted his land & the Buildings to the College. The first principle was Mr. U.B. Wanninayaka. The main objective of establishing the Buddhist schools is to stop the spared of Christianity by missionary schools.
It improved it's work & get a major role in education. It improved its educational activities as well as extra curricular activities. After few years it became one of the most popular schools in the country.
It contain one Play ground & one Laboratory for the A/L students. One library with about 50 books was there after the first few years.
