Principal's Message

It is with great pleasure that I pen these few line on the occasion of establishing a new official web site of Maliyadeva College. The first official web site of the college was trace back as far as 1995. Then the teacher in charge was the present deputy principal Mr. R. M. C. P. K. Rathnayake and it couldn’t operate long due to lack of facilities. Today school is equipped with modern computer labs, relevant infrastructure facilities and experienced personnel to launch a more definite and steady program of development. If mention a few IT related processes that has taken place in recent times are the establishment of OBA funded Computer laboratory in late 2004 with 30 fully fledged computing units, the commencement of SEMP(ADB) funded computer laboratory with 23 computers in 2006, and the 10 computers that received by courtesy of MOE in 2009. In addition to all these the staffrooms, the offices of primary, middle and A/L sections are provided with computing facilities. Even Wi-Fi connectivity was made available for the first time in July 2009 in covering a part of school premises.
I believe it is very appropriate and timely act to establish a new official web site of the school. I am quite confident of new innovative web designers Migara Amarasinghe, Pasindu Abeyweera, Heshan Rathnayake under the guidance of Mr. C. P. Rathnayake, Mr. M.M.T. Mahinda Seneviratne, Mr. Ranjith Jayawardena. I hope they will submit all sorts of details relevant to school in this web site and update the site at the end of every month.
Finally I would like to convey my sincere thanks to Mr. Nimal Bandara, Secratary (MOE), the Chairman and the Working committee of 2004 OBA, the present OBA chairman and the committee and the staff of the OBA Computer unit , the Zonal CRC and the school computer unit for extending their support in numerous ways

Vice Principal's Message

I consider it a great honour to write this message for the Official Website of Maliyadeva College. It is a great pleasure to remember the great achievemnts of people who have begun their computer field as a member of Maliyadeva Computer Club which was established in 1980. Asanka Herath, Asanka Wasala, Chethiya Abeysinghe are some names that I can remember in this occasion.

It had been a great drawback that there wasn't a source to get most recent and authentic information about the College through the internet. Even though there are lot of websites functioning from most part of the world, they are not been updated and sometimes they are not authentic. But I appreciate their effort in keeping those websites as they are done by our Old Boys.

I highly appreciate this launching of website as www.maliyadevacollege.edu and on behalf of the College I would like to thank Migara Amarasinghe, Pasindu Abeyweera, Heshan Rathnayake of Grade 13 who undertook this most needed task.
